Janet Jackson wasn’t the only person missing from Sunday’s Grammys. Another person you almost saw but didn’t was Nicholas ”Sixx” King. Who? He’s the 27-year-old gatecrasher who mysteriously upstaged the Foo Fighters at last year’s Grammys and interrupted Adam Sandler and Snoop Dogg at last summer’s MTV Video Music Awards. King almost made it on stage at this year’s Grammys, but he tells Entertainment Weekly he was caught by security during rehearsals at Los Angeles’ Staples Center and arrested for trespassing.

On Saturday, King says, he passed himself off as a security guard during rehearsals by wielding the right props. ”I never SAID I was security,” he says. ”I just had the walkie talkie and the headset. They made that assumption.” Ultimately, however, several guards recognized him and had him arrested, he says, leading to a scheduled court appearance on Tuesday. [EW, however, checked with Los Angeles law enforcement officials and could find no record of his arrest, detention, or court date. The District Attorney’s office told EW that King was not on Tuesday’s docket.] King claimed to EW that the arena wanted to press charges, though the Recording Academy did not. Grammy officials may, however, want to keep him from using the domain name grammycrasher.com, the website where he sells a DVD of his exploits, called ”Jackass in the Hood.” He says he’s facing a cease and desist order from the Academy over the
Web address, though at press time, the site was still active.
